SezzleCash is Sezzle’s cash advance. Borrow up to $300 in the Sezzle app and pay it back in 5 smaller payments.

What is SezzleCash? It is a cash advance inside the Sezzle app. If you qualify, you can borrow up to $300 and get it in your bank account or on your debit card.1 Most people get about $165.

The best part is Pay in 5. You pay the money back in 5 smaller payments over 10 weeks. Most cash advance apps take it all back on your next payday. That can leave you short again right away. Pay in 5 gives you more room to breathe.

The catch: you need Sezzle Anywhere, which costs $19.99 a month. You also pay a small fee each time you borrow. That is a good deal if you already shop with Sezzle. If you only want cash, it gets expensive fast.

SezzleCash at a glance

  • Limit: Up to $300 (usually $50 to $300)
  • Typical amount: About $165
  • Payback: Pay in 5, which is 5 equal payments over 10 weeks
  • Fee each time you borrow: $3.25 on $100. Up to $11.25 on bigger amounts.
  • Monthly plan needed: Sezzle Anywhere, $19.99
  • Where the money goes: Your bank account or debit card (not the Sezzle shopping card)
  • Speed: Debit card is often instant or about 30 minutes. Bank transfer takes about 2 to 3 business days.
  • Where it works: 30 states (see the list in the FAQ below)
  • Credit check: No hard credit check to apply
  • App: No separate app. SezzleCash lives inside the regular Sezzle app.
  • App ratings: App Store 4.9 | Google Play 4.6

How does SezzleCash work?

You ask for cash in the Sezzle app. If Sezzle approves you, it shows your fee and your payment dates. You say yes, and the cash goes to your bank account or debit card.

Then you pay it back with Pay in 5. You pay nothing up front. Your first payment is due 14 days later, along with the fee. Then you make 4 more payments, one every 2 weeks. Here is Sezzle’s own example for a $100 advance:

Pay in 5 on a $100 SezzleCash advance
WhenYou pay
Day you borrow$0
Week 2$20 + $3.25 fee = $23.25
Week 4$20
Week 6$20
Week 8$20
Week 10$20
Total$103.25

That works out to a 28.7% APR. Sezzle takes each payment from your linked bank account or card on the due date. You can pay early for free. Paying from a bank account is best, since paying with a card may add a small fee.

You can only have one SezzleCash at a time. Pay off the one you have before you ask for another. SezzleCash payments are separate from any Sezzle shopping payments you already owe.

How to get a SezzleCash advance

  1. Get the Sezzle app and sign in (or make an account).
  2. Join Sezzle Anywhere ($19.99 a month). You need it to use SezzleCash.
  3. Find SezzleCash in the app and pick how much you want.
  4. Check your fee and payment dates. Accept only if they work for you.
  5. Get your cash in your bank account or on your debit card.

Who can get it? You need to live in one of the 30 states where SezzleCash is offered. You also need a Social Security number on file, a linked bank account or debit card, and a record of paying Sezzle on time. Brand new Sezzle users may not qualify right away. Sezzle may also only offer Anywhere once you reach a higher rewards level. Approval is never promised.

Sezzle’s fees

There are two costs. Here is what each one gets you.

Sezzle Anywhere: $19.99 a month. You must have it to use SezzleCash. It also gives you a Visa card in the app, so you can split purchases into payments almost anywhere Visa works. It can also cut some shopping fees. If you already use those perks, SezzleCash is a nice extra. If you only want cash, you are paying $19.99 a month just to borrow.

SezzleCash service fee: $3.25 on $100, up to $11.25. You pay this each time you borrow. Bigger advances have bigger fees. Sezzle shows your exact fee before you accept, but it does not post the full fee chart online. There is no extra fee for fast delivery.

Quick math: Borrow $100 and you pay a $3.25 fee. Add your share of the $19.99 plan, and that $100 can really cost you about $16 to $17. Bigger fees cost more.

What is Sezzle?

Sezzle is best known for buy now, pay later. You buy something today and split the cost into smaller payments. You can use it online and in stores. Sezzle started in 2016 and trades on the Nasdaq stock market.

SezzleCash is a newer add-on from 2026. Shopping is still Sezzle’s main product. SezzleCash is for the times you need real cash instead of a split purchase. You do not have to buy anything to use it.

Is SezzleCash worth it?

Our SezzleCash review

Yes, if you already pay for Sezzle Anywhere. A $3.25 fee on $100 is cheap, and Pay in 5 gives you 10 weeks to pay. Very few cash advance apps give you that long.

Probably not, if you only want cash. Adding $19.99 a month makes SezzleCash one of the most expensive cash advances we track.

Bottom line

SezzleCash stands out for one big reason: Pay in 5 lets you pay back up to $300 over 10 weeks instead of all at once. If you already pay for Sezzle Anywhere, it is one of the easiest ways to borrow a little cash. If you would join Anywhere only to borrow, compare cheaper cash advance apps first.
