ATM Instant Cash (also known as ATM app or ATM.com) stands out from other instant cash apps by combining advances with online surveys and games that let you earn extra money.
The app offers a traditional cash advance feature although the $50 limit puts it on the lower side of cash advances – similar to Float Me which offers new users up to $50.
You can also use the ATM app to make money with game and location rewards, paid surveys ($0.03 to $5 each), and daily prizes with the app claiming users can earn up to $250 a month.

How does the ATM Instant Cash app work?
ATM Instant Cash connects with your bank account using Plaid – a secure software and a common go-between banks and cash advance apps. After connecting with your account, you’ll be able to see how much you qualify for.
Borrowing from the ATM app won’t impact your credit score (the app doesn’t consider it when determining your eligibility) and you can request advances and repay late without hurting your credit score (though it’s not a good habit to get into).
How much does the ATM Instant Cash app cost?
ATM Instant Cash has a flat monthly subscription fee of $3.99 – which is lower than many other instant cash apps we’ve reviewed.
There’s no interest or late fees, but you will need to pay a $3.99/month subscription fee to borrow and earn cash with the ATM app.
There’s also an Express Fee of $5 if you want your money within seconds, otherwise you’ll need to wait a few days.
🤓Overdraft Apps Tip: You can upgrade to a Personal Finance + membership for $7.99/month. This lets you add multiple accounts and better track your spending but it didn’t seem like a worthwhile upgrade based on our test. |
If you’re keen to try before you buy, you can take advantage of a 2-month trial which is generous compared to the 30-day or 14-day trials of other money borrowing apps.

How much can you borrow from the ATM Instant Cash app?
If eligible, you can borrow up to $50. The app isn’t run by a bank or lender so you can protect yourself from costly overdraft fees.
Like most cash advance apps, you’ll probably be offered a lower amount as a new customer. After testing the app, we found $25 is the most common amount for new users, which can be helpful in a pinch.
We found eligibility requirements to be a little rigid, especially since you’re only able to borrow up to $50. In order to qualify for an advance, you’ll need:
- A positive balance
- A debit card linked to that account
- Three direct deposits totaling $1,000+
- A bank account at least 60 days old (no joint accounts)
ATM Instant Cash is helpful if you meet eligibility criteria and only need lower amounts of money, but you’ll need to look at other options if you want to borrow more than $50.
Can you really make money using the app?
Yes! The ATM app lets you earn extra cash in ways that fit your lifestyle and routine.
These include:
- Game Rewards: Play popular games like Coin Master, Solitaire, and more, with the potential to earn up to $250 a month.
- Paid Surveys: Quick and easy surveys pay between $0.03 and $5.00 each with new surveys added weekly.
- Cashback Offers: Save money on your everyday purchases with cashback from over 500 verified partners.
- Location Rewards: Earn money passively by enabling location sharing and earn cash rewards just for visiting stores.
- Daily Rewards: Answer a few quick questions (takes less than 60 seconds) with new earning opportunities available daily.
Is the ATM app legit?
ATM Instant Cash averages 4.6 stars in both the App Store and Google Play and has over a million downloads (with solid reviews!).
Positive reviews frequently comment on the options to earn some extra money as well as the speed of cashing out your earnings.
Negative comments complain about small earning opportunities (we’re talking about $0.10 or less) but if you don’t mind taking surveys, watching ads or playing games, you can slowly build up your balance.
You can’t withdraw any funds until you’ve reached $20 in total earnings, so if you need fast cash, you’ll be better suited to the cash advance option (or try another cash advance app).
Is the ATM Instant Cash app worth downloading?
The ATM app is a handy way to borrow small amounts of cash as long as you match their tough eligibility criteria.
If you’re eligible, we found this to be a useful option, especially if you have bad credit. With relatively low fees compared to the average cash advance app, the $3.99 subscription is a fair trade-off if you make multiple monthly advances and earn cashback through the in-app rewards system.
As far as other features go, ATM Instant Cash can also offer insights into your spending and saving, so you can budget better and track your spending month on month.
If you meet eligibility criteria but want advances above $50, apps like MoneyLion and Dave are options that might be a better fit.
