MoneyLion Instacash is one of the most searched cash advance products in the US, but most reviews still bury the advance inside a tour of investing tabs and credit tools. This page is different. It is an Instacash review first: how much you can actually pull, what Turbo delivery costs, why the tip screen matters, and when Tilt or Chime MyPay is the cleaner download.

MoneyLion Instacash app

What is MoneyLion?

MoneyLion is a full personal finance platform: banking-style features (RoarMoney), credit tools, investing, and content. Instacash is the cash advance product inside that ecosystem. You do not need every MoneyLion feature to use Instacash, but some higher limits are tied to RoarMoney and deposit behavior.

How MoneyLion Instacash works

  1. Create a MoneyLion account and link a bank (and RoarMoney if you want the higher ceiling path).
  2. MoneyLion sizes an Instacash offer from deposit and spending patterns. No traditional credit check for the advance decision.
  3. Request an amount within your available limit. Remember the $100 per day draw cap.
  4. Choose standard delivery (free, slower) or Turbo (faster, fee from the published tier table).
  5. Decide on the tip prompt. You can set tip to zero, but the UI pushes tips hard.
  6. Repay on the scheduled date from the linked account or RoarMoney balance.

Instacash fees and the tip trap

MoneyLion publishes a Turbo fee schedule on its pricing page. Smaller advances cost less. A $100 Turbo advance is commonly $8.99. Standard delivery is free if you can wait. Official reference: moneylion.com/pricing.

Tips are optional in the legal sense and prominent in the product sense. During the advance flow, MoneyLion asks for a tip. You can choose $0, but many users miss that. If you want a no-tip culture by default, compare Tilt or Dave after its tip settlement.

Our directory’s $100 all-in estimate for Instacash Turbo is about $8.99 when there is no monthly Instacash subscription layer. Your total climbs if you tip or if you need several $100 daily draws to reach a larger shortfall.

Limits: $500, $1,000, and the $100/day reality

External-bank Instacash tops out at $500 for many users, with path requirements (including multiple $100 transactions in MoneyLion’s documented flow) before some higher external limits unlock. RoarMoney members with qualifying direct deposits can see offers up to $1,000. Separately, MoneyLion caps how much you can take per day at about $100, so a $400 need can take four days of draws even when your total limit is higher.

Who should use MoneyLion Instacash

Best for

People who already want MoneyLion’s broader money app, users who can wait for free delivery, and borrowers who may grow into RoarMoney for higher limits.

You hate tip prompts, you need more than $100 today in one draw, or you want a short free trial before any ongoing relationship. Try Tilt’s 14-day trial or a bank-native option like Chime MyPay.

MoneyLion Instacash vs Tilt, Chime, and Dave

Tilt wins on trial and no-tip policy. Chime wins if you want banking plus a fee-capped MyPay line and a new-customer bonus path. Dave wins on brand familiarity for ExtraCash after its fee simplification. MoneyLion wins when the wider app is useful and you are willing to manage Turbo fees, tips, and daily caps. Is MoneyLion legit and safe?

Quick Answer: Yes. MoneyLion is a real, publicly traded fintech company. Instacash and related tools are not a bank by themselves; RoarMoney banking uses Pathward, Member FDIC, when you use that product.

MoneyLion offers Instacash advances plus credit and banking-style tools. Banking deposits on RoarMoney are through Pathward, not MoneyLion as the bank.

You will share bank and personal data. Treat that like any finance app: only continue if you accept the access and the repayment pull.

Tips and express fees can show up in the request flow. Standard delivery can be free if you can wait.

  3. Repay open Instacash before you leave so a later debit is not a surprise.
  4. Look for close account or delete account, or contact MoneyLion support and ask to close the account.
  5. Confirm in email or in-app that billing has stopped, then uninstall if you want.

Important: Deleting the app from your phone does not cancel your account or stop billing.
